In a tradition that stretches back farther than recorded history itself, my journey to a more “mystical” perspective than my culture would typically provide began in a crisis.

In August of 2006, at age 17, I developed a mysterious collage of health issues that ultimately left me almost entirely incapacitated for the next two years. I spent that time between bed and specialists’ offices, but no matter where I was referred, mainstream medicine could only ever say something was wrong- not what to do about it.

In the Autumn of 2008, seemingly out of options, and in spite of our total skepticism, my family and I decided I should try seeing an energy healer that had been recommended. To my surprise, I noticed I seemed to be recovering after several sessions. By the turn of the new year I was mostly up and around again, and getting back to my normal life.

In retrospect, I think it was my profound dissatisfaction with the prevailing paradigm of a random, meaningless world manifesting as physical symptoms, and the cure was exposure to a philosophical and spiritual tradition that allowed room for life to mean more than that.

This encounter inspired an exploration of all things occult, spiritual, and otherwise esoteric that continues to this day, and led me to Astrology. Of all the systems and philosophies I've studied, Astrology stands alone in its uncanny capacity for revealing the ineffable, qualitative, transcendent truths of a given moment.

Now, 20 years later, I hope to be of some help in guiding others to their own answers written in the stars.
